“Best salsa I've ever tasted”
Reviewed December 18, 2011
We stumbled across Palapa Bar and Grill one afternoon when were touring around with a golf cart and decided to stop in for a drink. The atmosphere is casual and friendly with every inch of wood in the place covered with messages of patrons past. They keep markers at the bar to allow you to sign your name and leave a message. We had some delicious rum drinks with chips and salsa and it is easily the best salsa I've ever had.

One of the most awesome bars on the planet”

There's something about simplicity that I find very attractive. Sometimes you really don't need much flair, decorations or anything like that. Sometimes you find a place like Palapas where you have a simple bamboo constructed bar that sits over the water with a spectacular view, and that's really all you need.

Some friends and I came to Palapas with the intent on having a drink, checking the place out, then leaving to go do other activities. Little did we know we would open a tab, SPEND THE ENTIRE DAY there swimming in the water and having buckets of beer lowered down to us while we floated in the inner tubes. Not to mention taking a black permanent marker and writing anywhere you like that you and your friends were there.

Palapas is definitely one of my favorite Caribbean bars I've ever been too. The food is amazing, the drinks are tasty and the view is breathtaking. Definitely wander up North of the bridge and come visit this place. It's absolutely worth it.

If you're planning a trip to San Pedro Belize, this is a stop you won't want to miss! The food is excellent and the atmosphere is soooo laid back and enjoyable you will want to stay all day (we did). Try the BBQ pulled pork - it is better than any I have ever eaten!!!
Enjoy.

Off DA chain. Rum Punches off da chain. Let them bring out this gas bucket full of the rum punch oil. Right on the water with food and booze, what more do you need. Went there everyday to chill. It is a tourist attraction, but many locals go there too. We visited the local spots as well in the heart on San Pedro and we still havent found any better rum punches. We visited about 30 bars so far, and small homes where moms and fam cooks..still something is added to increase the "syrup" flavor and give you that lean at this spot. Right now there is this spot in the hood by where i got my haircut that was good, the bannana beach bar hooked it up, and the palapa bar.

But this spot beats any location i know of, right on the water..cant get better than that. Ill be back soon, need to visit a home we are bulding out there.
